This weapon, said to belong to a traitor from long ago, was so heavy that it found no owner, and became a forgotten relic of history. The armor and helm are things that I'm definitely familiar with as I've used them on previous builds before! I'd advice to do that (I hate pvp, particualrly because I'm too laggy but did it only for this reason) it'll make your early game quite easy, specially if you rush the 50 STR point. I've heard it's good paired with a greatshield of choice,Drangleic armor and Vengarl's helm... Ok thanks, I appreciate the comment! I have a decent idea I think, but since it sounds as though you're running an almost identical build to what I want to do, what is your overall stat distribution that you are going for? Im using the bastard sword +10 with that jester armor its fun in a bun so far. Weaponsmith Ornifex, traded for the Soul of Fume Knight and The rest of my build is fairly simple, far as I can tell. Hey guys, looking at playing Dark Souls 2 again before Dark Souls 3 comes out in April this year. Also, I'm sorry I forgot to ask, but what bow do you think is the best to use? Basically, I usually play a mage or something like that, but I'm looking for a STR build that has really high damage, for PvE only. I've heard the Dragonrider Bow is pretty good, though I've honestly never tried it out myself. Thanks again for the help, it's been a long time since I played and I don't want to make any mistakes with this build! NOTE: Gear doesn't matter too much, just stay below 70% equipment load. Anything above say 18 Dex and you are looking more and more like a quality build. This was extremely helpful! I guess VGR is somewhat important too tho. It is one of the most difficult weapons to build for; requiring significant investment in both Strength and Dexterity. I have like 30 dex because I'm using a bow as a backup for some situations (amana...), As for the time until you reach no-mans wharf, you can either use a mace or any weapon you feel comfortable with, I wouldn't upgrade it too far, save your components to make sure you get a +10 greatsword ASAP, only upgrade your temporary weapon if you have enough shards (always keep 6 with you). And while this is fine, it will take a lot of stats to do if you are keeping to a meta level of 150. True story the Pursuer's Ultra Greatsword does lesser damage fully upgraded then the Ultra Greatsword fully to plus +10. Also the grand lance is in your reach pretty early. Keep in mind that while I'm not new to the Dark Souls community (been playing since Demon Souls) I would like answers to be as in depth as possible so I know exactly what to do. Stats is focused on getting that 50 STR, enough END to swing at least 4 times (currently at 20) and VIT to carry your equipment and avoid fat rolls. A lot of people like the Fume UGS, but it requires a significant Dex investment of 30. But, its amazing Strength scaling from base level allows it to deal massive damage right off the bat. Use one's weight to lunge forward with a low stance and increased poise, and follow with a crushing strong … Another good note to make is that even if you don't like pvp, you can farm chunks in belfry luna to upgrade your weapon early on. Whichever From developer/project manager decided to call an ultra greatsword "greatsword" is a troll. ... the damage should equal or pass the greatsword with the proper build owing to it … A fun trick I do, get the petrified something starting gift and trade with birds, if you get the demon club, once oyu reach STR 20 (if you farm a bit you'll probably have STR 20 before going into no-mans wharf) you can use that at +0 as your weapon. Also, do you think it's best to start as Deprived, or would something like Warrior be alright as well? Other weapons like the Blackknight UGS or Crypt Blacksword (technically a Greataxe) require faith or faith and int. I will definitely look into that then. I have read that a STR Greatsword build is an awesome way to go, but I'm unsure what the stats should look like, rings/armor I should wear, etc.
